With August temperatures averaging in the high teens this month, fishing our reservoirs has been pleasant and productive. With Laneshaw reservoirs rod average of 2.04 trout per angler it nearly doubled last year average for the same month, while ChurnClough has done slightly better than last year with an average of 1.07 trout per angler. Both dry flies and lures accounted for both rainbow and brown trout throughout the day with small black flies twitch on the surface came into their own towards evening.
